Seller marketplace on Whop
Take payments in your marketplace, onboard sellers, and arrange supported payouts.
How this could work for your business
A marketplace can use Whop checkout, connected accounts and supported payouts to collect payments and pay sellers. Platform fees should be designed around the actual transaction and the permissions available to the platform.
Start with the money flow: who sells to the customer, where the balance belongs and how the seller is paid. Then specify onboarding, payment confirmation, payout status and reconciliation. Connected-account financial fee markups are not the same setting as a percentage taken from a marketplace sale.
This is a platform integration rather than a normal agency team payment. The setup needs account-scoped authorization and server-side handling, with the available countries and payout methods checked for the intended sellers.

What you’ll need to decide
Who are the buyers and sellers, which countries are involved, what is sold, who receives the payment balance, how should sellers be paid, and is the platform earning a sale fee or a supported financial-activity markup?
See the setup workflow
Draw the money flow
Identify the seller, buyer, payment recipient and platform revenue for one representative sale. Decide who owns each balance.
Define seller onboarding
List intended seller countries and payout methods, then use the documented account and verification flow. Show which requirements affect the intended launch.
Connect buyer checkout
Choose the intended product or plan and map the payment to the order and seller. Use current checkout guidance for trusted payment confirmation.
Design platform revenue
Distinguish a fee on a sale from a markup on connected-account financial activity. Retrieve the permitted account fee fields and limits before proposing a markup.
Design seller access to balances
If using an embedded payout portal, create the account-scoped token on the server. Verify that a seller can only see their own account.
Define payout handling
Record the amount, recipient, supported method and approval policy. Plan for the documented payout states rather than treating a request as a completed payout.
Reconcile payments and payouts
Link orders, confirmed payments, platform fees and payout records. Decide how refunds, duplicate events and unsuccessful payouts are reviewed.
Test the full platform flow
Cover onboarding, payment, account isolation, supported fees and payout completion. Use current endpoint versions and verified server-side events.
